KennyMichelleOh boy! What a day it was! Let’s just say it was a long one but an amazing one. I got to take my picture with one of my favorite, Kenny Chesney!

Saturday, we made our way out to AT&T Stadium and began our broadcast from the West Plaza at 1pm. The doors didn’t open till 4pm but that didn’t stop me from sneaking inside for a few pictures and video as they began to sound check. I was able to catch some of Cole Swindell’s souncheck and I can’t even imagine how he and Brantley must have felt having that huge stadium to themselves. It was rather windy. I had the opportunity to meet Kenny and I have to say, he’s the perfect size for a short gal like myself! Ha. I didn’t get to see much of his set cause I had to jet out to Midnight Rodeo for my broadcast that night. Caught a little of Jason Aldean but also didn’t get a chance to see him. The last time I did see him was at Gexa during the Ebola incident. In the radio room which we get exclusive access to the artist, he held on to his Purell sanitizer pretty closely! lol.

11248075_10155481040935411_2142341370598176852_nWe got to watch most the show from the press box which Kenny reserves for radio, which I think is amazing. He really knows how to take care of the people that care about him. So there we got to eat a little, watch the show. Old Dominion is a new band in country music but you’ve heard many of the songs they’ve written. They wrote, “Say You Do” for Dierks Bentley. “A Guy Walks into a Bar” for Tyler Farr, “Sangria” for Blake Sheltong and the list goes on. Cole, Old Dominion & Brantley all stopped by the Radio suite to say hi to us which was really awesome of them.

Cole Swindell, Old Dominion & Brantley have to be some of the most down to earth guys. I hope these guys come back soon cause I would really like to enjoy their set without having to run around the whole stadium. We did get the chance to upgrade some KSCS listeners that were up in the 400 section with Sandbar passes… right up to the front row. That was an amazing experience. So next time you’re up there and you see us around, make sure you know what Hawkeye looks like and his name, your chances of winning will be increased!

Oh! There was also a pre-party the day before with Casey James at Sherlock’s Pub in Arlington. Talk about a very humble and sweet guy! Not to mention, so talented. I LOVE CASEY JAMES!

Overall, a great experience and I can’t wait to do it again. Just wish I could’ve caught Kenny’s set but in radio, we never stop working! So back to work I go. I hope you had the chance to go if you didn’t, you can catch some videos on our KSCS Facebook page and more pictures here.

Check out a video I took of Casey James performing his latest single you’ve been hearing on KSCS, “Fall Apart”.
