CNN has confirmed the passing of legendary pop icon, Prince. Police are investigating the death at the estate of Prince in Carver County.

On the 15th of this month, Prince had a medical emergency that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. Before that, he had to cancel a show and later told fans he was battling the flu.
UPDATE: A publicist for the singer Prince released the following statement on the entertainer’s death Thursday: “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57. There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.” The statement was released by Prince’s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure.
