New Store Announced: IKEA Continues To Grow Across North Texas

Fort Worth has seen a lot of growth in recent years and a new proposal promises an IKEA store for Tarrant County.

The president for IKEA US said in a statement, “This proposed Fort Worth store would complement our Dallas-area presence in Frisco and soon in Grand Prairie by bringing family-friendly shopping experience even closer to customers in the western part of the Metroplex.”

That’s also right, Grand Prairie in case you missed that news earlier will also be getting its own maze of furniture. As to jobs, the new IKEA store would bring 500 jobs to the area during the construction phase and employ around 250 people once the store opens.

You can expect the Fort Worth IKEA to resemble the rest of their stores and offer their famous Swedish treats like meatballs inside their restaurant that will seat more than 300 diners. The store is expected to be built 10 miles north of downtown Fort Worth. If approved, construction will begin next year with opening date in the summer of 2019.
