WASHINGTON D.C. – (WBAP/KLIF) – President Biden has signed an executive order Tuesday morning, going into effect immediately. A border shutdown will now be triggered by more than 2,500 encounters with migrants between entry points on the border with Mexico. A border re-opening would only happen when unauthorized crossings go below 1,500 per day

Children and human trafficking victims will not be barred nor in the count of those migrants.

Legal challenges are expected; the Trump administration tried similar legislation only to be blocked. The Biden executive order is signed after failure of Congress to pass a bipartisan border security measure.
