There is one country star that turned down The Voice and now… he’s won an ACM Award! That would be the ACM’s 2018 ‘New Male Vocalist of The Year’, Brett Young.

One month before he signed his record deal, Brett got a call from Voice producers asking him to join the show. He didn’t even have to go through the audition process if he accepted. He could head straight to the blind auditions. After having a talk with a friend in the music industry.. and just 2 days before leaving to join The Voice, he called producers to let them know he would not be able to join the show.

The decision clearly worked out for Brett Young who’s already earned two #1 songs back-to-back with “In Case You Didn’t Know” and “Like I Love You“.
